Overall Education Quality and Performance Excellence of Assumption University

Popularly known as the first International University in Thailand with quality and professionally successful graduates & alumni around the globe, Assumption University implemented the AU Internal Quality Assessment for Academic Year 2019 on September 23-25, 2020 at Hua Mak Campus.  This is to ascertain that the quality of services and education standards of the University are maintained and continuously improved. 

 

AU Rector’s Welcome Speech and Quality Assurance Mission 

Welcoming and addressing all the Internal Quality Assessment Committee Members, Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Seanghiran, President-Rector Magnificus, stressed on the following internal quality assessment provocative messages highlighting on: “The vital demand in quality education for potentially increasing number of expected global students cannot go without the essentially higher demand in quality assurance.

The new paradigms of learning of the higher education in the continually changing international horizon and globalized context necessitates the newer quality programs and technologies preparing students to becoming active quality citizen  with successful future careers, personal development and broadly advanced knowledge base. 

To this end, stimulating research & innovation cannot be overlooked.  Effective quality assurance procedures should be integrated with responsibility, strong capacity, self-regulation and management. 

Today Internal Quality Assurance is, moreover, highlighted with critical asset of credibility and the heart of IQA activities with emphasized accountability and enhancement.  With the new normal IQA, quality composition of IQA committee members come with the intrinsic value built from within. 

In conclusion, quality can be realized with utmost intention, well-planned steps, competition with oneself, exhibited, possessed capacities, credibility, ongoing monitoring efforts and integrity. 

 

Introduction of Internal Quality Assessment Committee by Asst. Prof. Dr. Warayuth Sriwarakuel 

After introducing the active team of the AU Internal Quality Assessment Committee, Asst. Prof. Dr. Warayuth Sriwarakuel, Chair, Internal Quality Assessment Committee, further presented the IQA objectives and procedures in details enlightening all the committee members with IQA related informative, clear-cut goals, directions and practical steps for further practical implementation.

 

Presentation of Assumption University Performance Result 2019   by Dr. Vindhai Cocracul
 

The overall detailed performance excellence results pertaining to the various academic factors or aspects of  the previous year of 2019 was then reported to all participating committee members; updating them with past year results and performances by Dr. Vindhai Cocracul, Chair, AU Quality Assurance Executive Committee.  

IQA Interview Session
The required accompanying IQA Interviewing procedures were then strategically carried out involving concerned Vice Presidents, Directors and Chairs of various academic, supporting units or sections covering the following key issues:

               - Component 1: Graduates Production
               - Component 2: Research
               - Component 3: Academic Services
               - Component 4: Preservation of Art and Culture
               - Component 5: Policy, Planning and Administration: AU Schools Position
                                          and Directions.

               - Component 6 & 7: Institution’s Identity and Uniqueness
Additionally, the interview of faculty members and staff was also performed including the interview of students, alumni via Microsoft Teams Meeting.
